Not infrequently we are asked to mediate the sending of a small package between Canada and Romania or vice versa by calling our customers who travel close to the dates that interest those who ask us to help them with these small commissions.
Since our refusal may seem a lack of understanding, we want to clarify the legal aspect of this type of request. To mediate between one person and another is to put them in contact to establish the details of the small commissions required (small packages, medicines, etc.).
Under current law it is a federal crime to disclose a passenger's name, so we are strictly prohibited from doing so. Saying the name and providing contact details of a passenger (to be contacted by another person) is therefore a violation of the law and this is punishable extremely severely. This is the reason that prevents us from helping you with small commissions.
Out of the desire to lend a helping hand as much as we can, we inquired about the possibility of legally sending medicines from Canada to Romania (this being the type of request we encountered most frequently).
We provide you with the official Romanian regulations that allow the receipt and customs clearance of medicines sent to Romania, by parcel/package.
Read carefully, there are also restrictions! See order 680.
Packages can be sent through the Romanian parcel companies in Montreal specialized in the Canada-Romania relationship or through Canada Post. Sending can be done by ship or plane (in cases where we want the package to arrive quickly).
Of course, there are associated costs, but these are the legal possibilities for sending an envelope/package/parcel with medicines.
Teo Travel is not responsible or subject to legal criminal, civil and/or financial liability for the actions of sending parcels/medicines. The information made available represents the order in force in Romania for receiving medicines sent by postal parcel from other countries and has the title of information. The information provided by Teo Travel does not bind Teo Travel to joint and several liability with the Romanian legislator, Romanian customs or with the person who sends packages to Romania.
